What a day at Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) as Republicans get another chance to distort the truth. Howard Fineman, NBC News Political Analyst and Editorial Director of the Huffington Post Media Group, will have that.
And can you believe the leader of a white nationalist group was invited to CPAC? Mike Papantonio, Host of "The Ring of Fire" Radio Show, and Goldie Taylor, Columnist for The Grio and Managing Editor of The Goldie Taylor Project, are among the outraged and they'll join Ed to respond.
It’s been three days and Sean Hannity still has no evidence to back up his claim that President Obama didn’t want to kill Osbama bin Laden. Ed’s NOT letting him off the hook.
Scott Walker reaches a new low. He’s now going to use federal money designed to help homeowners to cover his fiscal mismanagement. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (D) and state Sen. Lena Taylor (D-WI) will join Ed with reaction.
And in the big finish tonight: a 14-year-old science whiz Joe Hudy who impressed the president brings his marshmallow cannon to The Ed Show. You never know what might happen!

before President Obama spoke today, i was trying to figure out what kind of a compromise he would make. this is a great compromise, one that should satisfy everyone.
but of course it won't.
Didn't you hear them at the CPAC? They clearly said don't even listen to the compromise, it needs to be rejected. That's what I call a desire to work on America's problems... NOT!
It is so nice to ditch one of the right's Myths that they say as truth.
think all their candidates need to speak to this.
POLITICS
Mitt Romney Legitimizing White Nationalists By Speaking At CPAC Today
There are times when I really do agree with Obama. Here is is statement today- I'm sure we can all agree with it.
"As a citizen and as a Christian I cherish this right," Obama said. "I saw that local churches did more good for a community than a government program ever could."
The fact that Obama, can find such joy in a young many and his marchmellow launcher makes me even admire him more for being a human.
My husband and another couple went to the rest home here in town or their happy hour. They have a lovely band that comes and plays for them once a month and no one was dancing. So one of the ladies at our church knew we went out to dance together so she asked us to come. We did and everyone of the people even if they could not dance with us were rocking. At the end we had every one that could walk, or push their walkers up dancing to "When the Saints Come Marching in" snake dance around the hall and they kept yelling one more time. Did my heart good.
Yep- whether it is Obama playing with the launcher or Bush reading to the kids- it's always nice to see the leader of the free world relating to the young. I can agree with you, Mom.
I'm not surprised President Obama was impressed at the marshmallow cannon.
It was probably the softest thing projected at his office in a LONG time...
smiling didnt he come back with something like
Oh i am in so much trouble with Secret Service right now
or something like that.
President Obama just keeps smiling and keeps their foot in their own mouth making total fools of them.It becomes clearer and clearer no worrys for the liberal nation in 12
UAW- good to see you at work. The bailout was critical and allowed many to remain employed. Funny- in a way- our tax money at work...
Happy to be here but im retired at 81k a year but thanks anyway. By the way it's good to see some results from our tax money
Wow- $81K a year as a pension. One wonders why a bailout was needed?
To pay my pension were not the working poor from the south. Don't forget i get a national pension a local pension and SS
UAW- trust me- I know. Remember- I am paying for them all as a loyal customer of GM products. The SS- you payed for it yourself- with a 50% match from the company (I helped pay for that- but then someone else is helping me pay for mine).
I don't know if your union or not but i for one am very thankful for my union and i never minded paying due,s and i don't have to hunt armadillos to feed my kids. I have bought Fords since 1966
Well- your timeline is longer than mine. My first was a 67 Chevelle, first new was a 77 pickup, and a steady stream of Chevy's since then, interrupted by the Jeep Cherokee when it first came out.
I feel as if I'm paying dues as well. When GM (I don't think Ford did, though) took bankruptcy and off-loaded many of its legacy costs of contracts of Christmas Past, where new and shinier goodies were always available but with no way to pay for them- these costs are now picked up by others.
People must remember the failing of the Auto industry was not the result of unions it was the result of mismanagement by the company
yes- it was. You are correct. At one time, I worked in a facility that was represented by the UAW. Their President would always remind me that the contract was agreed to by both sides, and no one held a gun to Management's head to force them to sign. I took that to heart. That is about the time period, though, when the management team at this place realized the same. Over the years, with lots of complaints from Union chiefs, it is a lot different now. The benefits packages are much more competitive, work rules much loosened- it can be managed in a much more flexible and cost effective manner.
I still see that old local President from time to time- he always complains about "takeaways" and "givebacks", etc. I tell him, "yep, but both sides agreed to it. No one held any gun to anyones head".
The Republicans are pushing their so-called conservative agenda that they are marching away from real American values and are tripping all over their own feet. Obama's grin should just keep growing wider as those fools demonstrate that they have no connection to the American people. The new idiot senator from Missouri is busy making a total fool of himself. The last time we had a senator as out of touch as he is, John Ashcroft, he lost to a dead man in his re-election bid. Blunt's re-election run cannot come soon enough for this Missourian. He needs to lose!!!
The republicans don't have an agenda they have a dart board
take me to the moon!!!!!!!!!
You can buy a trip to outerspace. It will not get you all the way to the moon.

I voted for Obama in 2008 and consider myself an independent who leans heavily progressive. But I find Big Ed's criticism of CPAC for allowing this so called "white nationalist" to speak is somewhat disingenuous. I'm not familiar with VDARE except that they oppose illegal immigration, of which I also do not support.
I find the Democratic Party to be somewhat racist although not against minorities, but instead blatantly against gentile Caucasians/ WASPS. Yes we are Americans too and we still make up a large percentage of America. Thanks to racist policies we have become grossly underrepresented in income and wealth, in Democratic Congressional leadership, the highest government positions, the Supreme Court, the media, Wall St, and Hollywood etc. So frankly I'm weary of those such as Ed claim that we as a group are racists when we are being screwed too as a group. We've become the underclass and our rightful democratic representation has been usurped by a 1% minority over-class.
Until Democrats start looking at a balanced society, where all tribe are deserving of a seat at the table of power, in relative numbers based upon demographic percentage representation, then we don't have a democracy. Instead we have a racist and minority run government.
So Ed you need to get a grasp on reality when it comes to racism and bigotry and acknowledge that sometimes minorities with wealth and power can be the bigots too.
Wow how low can you go.
@averageamericanserf
hmm.....hey..I knew you they told about....you're Peter Brimelow aren't you
You and your white nationalists sympathies might want to self deport itself to glennbeck.com or where ever it is you guys congregate online. If you actually named some things that were connected to reality that would be one thing but you're flat out delusional.
let's see democratic party leadership taken over by non whites?
Harry Reid(white), Nancy Pelosi(white), Chuck Schumer(white), Barny Frank(retired/white), Barbara Boxer(white), Kirsten Gillibrand(sp?/also white), Joe Biden(white), Barack Obama(half white), Hillary and Bill Clinton(white)
Clearly the democratic party leadership is not overwhelmingly minority, however because the congress is elected by folks in their district they can and will elect who ever they want regardless of race. Most Americans judge others on their character not color, if you do not wish to be one of those that is your choice however that is what we do in this country. Oh and by the way whites are always in the global population and also a minority in America now as well....so more than purportional representation......
The supreme court....who's not white on that court? Lets see...
Sotomayor and Thomas. Two out of nine. outrageous right....outrage...outrage...outrage....
So who are all these non-white 1% oppressors? Do you mean folks like Sheldon Adelson and George Soros who are rather involved political multimillionaires who are both jewish? Going after the black man, the brown man and the jew man...again....disappointing.
Why do choose to believe that whites are oppressed in america?
Why do you believe the government should use its power to specifically help any one race over another?
What proof do you have that most wealthy individuals are not white? What percentage of the population actually is white?
Why should we alot space and representation based on color in the first place?
Who are these oppressive forces holding down white americans?
Why must you judge on race and not character?
Why do you think most americans would ever be supportive of your beliefs?
Do you not believe the declaration of independence in its assertion that all men are created equal?
Do you not realize that if we adopted a racist policy of representation based on color that would mean far less white people in the federal government?
Newsflash this ain't CPAC or some GOP campaign rally people around here will not be silent when things like this try to pop up. The left isn't afraid to call racism when it sees it.
Well said CC
100% Roger That!! CC
Yeah..How long can white people deal with their victimhood. (Answer)- as long as the far right keeps whining about it.
Ed- I believe you said last night that a majority of catholic women use contraceptives presumably to support your position on the President's mandate on the coverage of birth control. Obviously such a statement is not true and unfortunately demonstrates that you will say anything to justify your position. You also indicated that everyone is now "on board" including the catholic bishops, again not true.
Maureen most catholic women do use birth control....that's a statistical fact......look it up
http://news.yahoo.com/98-catholic-women-used-contraception-church-opposes-201936745.html
Here you go read it and weep.
Damn whom, all I hear is crickets....
Surprisingly you guys have missed another point, or would rather just play petty politics than discuss real issues.
There are millions of Catholics in the world and I am sure not all of them follow every teaching of the church (i.e. rules on birth control, contraceptives, etc.). That being said as a whole organization the church opposes it, whether you agree with it or not, and they have every right to do so. So what authority does the federal government have to say that Catholic organizations must provide these types of services free to women? They have none. These women have a right to not work at these Catholic organizations or they have the right to purchase these types of products on their own anywhere they choose.

But the church has no right to exempt themselves from the law of the land. Just like the LDS church couldn't legally practice multiple marriages to one man, nor can Muslims kill their wives for exposing more skin then their beliefs allow, so you have nothing but typical tea bagging republican outrage over nothing.
Sure, you can't just do anything you want (i.e. murder) and say that it is for "religious" purposes and I understand your argument regarding the law. However, why does the government have the right to require that religious organizations or any organization for that matter (now insurance companies with the compromise) provide these services free of charge?
Taking care of your teeth is good for you...should my employer and insurance company be forced to provide me with free toothpaste, toothbrushes, and mouthwash?
What a sideshow! This just draws attention from whats really happening! Obama is a republican! What has he done besides give Eric Holden`s bank buddys trillions! Zionist Jews are running the Whitehouse! Everyone in politics are worried more about Israel than about American people! That my friends is treason! This is America, not Israel! You Zionist cant have everything even though you were taught that, it does not make it true! Get over yourself before you end up like the ROMANS!
Wow
