During the 40s and through the 70s there were hard times for minorities in this country. There were always but I witness just the 50s through 60s and from then on. When ever a store or business would hire an African American or a minority, that business was boycotted by the white community. Sometimes that involved beatings, hangings and false accusations of a criminal nature. That was the way a small group of people instilled fear in the community. Most people to avoid controversy and harm, would stay away from that business. And the business was taught a lesson.

Of course the entire strategy of the GOP has always been fear-mongering, since they have no other popular ideas to espouse to their gullible followers. The only way they can continue to appeal to these ignorant souls is by scaring the crap out of them.

As an aside, I've been thinking about the strategy that GOP has been using since President Obama's election. I don't know if this was all Turtleman McConnell's plan or made jointly with others such as Bonehead, etc. Regardless... it has been disastrous for the country up to now since it has deadlocked most legislation... but it might finally be back-firing big time.

This strategy is of course composed basically of opposing all and every proposal or policy that President Obama makes, even when those policies are their own, were originally Repug ideas. So far this strategy of opposing everything from Obama has required them to fail to support or get many of their own policies passed, and to oppose anything that would help the country to recover. And now it has taken them down the road of having to take very unpopular positions on these everyday matters of contraception, etc.

Of course... this has forced them to use idiotic and hypocritical reasoning such as they are only fighting for religious rights, as well as opposing their own past policies once again. It is also obvious to everyone except their most gullible supporters know it is all a load of garbage. This brilliant strategy of just opposing and obstructing everything from President Obama is finally biting the GOP in the ass, and well deserved I might add. The GOP stategy has finally become disastrous for the GOP.

I know a few of those myself, who only watch Fox and believe everything they are told. Some are friends, and some used to be friends who won't talk to me anymore because I think differently than they do.

Regardless... when I asked them how they knew what they were being told on Fox was the truth, they could only repeat the talking points they hear everyday on Fox. When I gave them detailed facts that disproved the lies they were repeating... they didn't have any real knowledge to prove their point.
