Radical Rick Santorum is getting hit for his Satan remarks from 2008.
"Satan has his sights set" on the U.S. and "the Father of Lies" is using vice to go after the nation's great institutions, Santorum told a group of students at Ave Maria University (AMU), a private Catholic university in southwest Florida, on Aug. 29, 2008.
Santorum citied academia, the church, pop culture and politics/government as the first four institutions to fall.
Last night, reporters pressed Santorum on his four-year-old comments:
“Its a joke, its absurd. You know, if a person I‘m a person of faith. I believe in good and evil. I think if somehow or another because you’re a person of faith you believe in good and evil is a disqualifier for president, we’re going to have a very small pool of candidates who can run for president."
When asked whether he stands by his 2008 assertion that Satan is attacking the U.S., Santorum replied:
"I'm going to talk about what Americans want to talk about, which is creating jobs, getting our country safer and secure and yeah, taking on the forces around this world who want to do harm to America. You bet I will take 'em on."
2008 GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin defended Santorum’s Satan comments on Hannity last night, using the phrase "wee-weed up" to make her point:
"They will attack any conservatives who boldly proclaims their faith and talks about there is good in the world and there's evil in the world and that's what Rick Santorum was talking about. And this was a speech that he gave back in 2008, where he named evil as Satan. And for these lame-stream media characters to get all wee-weed up about that, first you have to ask yourself, have they ever attended a Sunday school class even? Have they never heard of this terminology before? And that's why they got so, you know, just whacked out about the speech."
But New Jersey and Mitt Romney backer Gov. Chris Christie (R) told ABC News the Satan remarks are relevant.
"I think anything you say as a presidential candidate is relevant. It is by definition relevant. You’re asking to be president of the United States. I don’t think [Santorum's] right about that. I think it is relevant what he says. I think people want to make an evaluation, a complete evaluation of anyone who asks to sit in the Oval Office."

Hey, Santorum has an inside line to know what Satin is doing here in America. He claims that all the protestant Churches have been destroyed and evangelical is the true Christian Church. I think he needs to look for the devil in the evangelical pulpit.

Oh my goodness! I read the above intro from Sanatorium and Palins comment. I am still on what the heck are they talking about? Sanatorium was more than happy to deliver the Satan speech in 2008 and now he walks away from it! So do his beliefs change like the weather? Mrs. Pallin does not help with her words. Santorum sounds even worse. He definitely knew what he was saying and who he was speaking to. But I get a kick out of the right wing who says that it is all the fault of the left wing media. Truth is that most of the mainstream media is owned by conservatives. Also, there IS a separation of church and state that is suppose to exist under the constitution so talking about the devil and satin is NOT appropriate for a general televised audience. If Rick was talking in a church or closed door session it might work but not when the public is exposed to this kind of thinking and talking through the mainstream media.
